GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

The Student Care Coordinator provides essential support to students facing a wide range of personal and academic challenges, connecting them with resources to foster resilience, well-being, and academic success. This role involves proactive outreach, crisis intervention, and consistent follow-up with students, as well as a collaborative engagement with faculty, staff, and community organizations. This position to be available during normal business hours and during peak operation, position may require working evenings, holiday breaks and/or weekends.

DUTIES:

  • Assist Counselor in assessing student needs and help develop individualized support plans.
  • Provide timely intervention for students facing crisis, including mental health, financial, housing or health-related challenges.
  • Assist Counselor in documentation of students served in the secure software system.
  • Connect students with on-campus services, including but not limited to counseling, tutoring, financial aid, accessibility services, and more.
  • Develop relationships with community organizations to provide additional support for housing, healthcare, food insecurity and other needs.
  • Coordinate with academic advisors and faculty to support student success.
  • Provide training for staff and faculty of services available and to promote wellness initiatives, connecting students with resources before challenges escalate.
  • Coordinator will oversee outreach and marketing to students.
  • Oversees coordination of integrating TimelyCare tele-mental health services with existing counseling services offered.
  • Track and report on student progress, resource usage and intervention outcomes.
  • Work with Institutional Research Department to analyze data identifying trends, inform programming and support strategic planning for the counseling area.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in appropriate field required (i.e., Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, Education).
  • Preference, 2 years' experience in student support, or similar role, preferably in an educational setting.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in case management software, and Microsoft Office software.
  • Crisis intervention experience preferred.
  • Knowledge and understanding of community college philosophy and North Central Community College, vision, mission, and values.
