Pay Status: Exempt
Hours Per Week: 40
Location: Summit County, CO (4 days in office, can work 4/10 schedule and have 3-day weekend)
Hiring Pay Range: $65,000-$68,000/yr
Full Pay Range: $65,000-$78,000/yr
Job summary:
The HR Generalist is responsible for running daily HR functions, services, policies, and programs related to the organization’s workforce. This includes, but is not limited to recruiting, hiring, onboarding, training, supporting, retaining, and separating employees. The HR Generalist will lead benefits and leave administration, workers compensation, unemployment, records maintenance, employee engagement surveys, performance evaluation processes, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.

Primary duties:
- Manage and administer all stages of the employee lifecycle, from recruiting to offboarding, including onboarding, orientation, engagement, and training of employees. Collaborate with departmental leaders to understand skills and competencies required for job openings.
- Prepare bi-weekly payroll for processing by collaborating with employees and Finance on timesheets and hour/wage allocations, computing relevant changes, ensuring accurate recording of time-off and wages, and preparing payroll batches for approval.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation in SharePoint and Human Resources Information System. Maintain logs and spreadsheets to track various HR programs.
- Manage offered benefits, including health, retirement, leave of absence, employee perks/wellness and other programs as appropriate.
- Assist in the development, communication and implementation of operational policies and procedures. Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices.
- Implement new hire orientation and employee recognition program. Execute and support special events such as benefits open enrollment, organization-wide meetings, etc.
- Receive and address employee relations/disciplinary concerns. Elevate relevant disputes, investigations and performance managements concerns. Attend, support and facilitate employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
- Other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Supports Training and Development programs across the agency, by tracking, developing and facilitating employee training.
- Maintain the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files and records
- Create systems for staff appreciation, team-building, celebration, and employee retention

General requirements of the position include:
- Bachelor’ s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
- 2-5 years of experience in Human Resources.
- Prior data entry, payroll, and/or HR Information System experience, preferred
- Previous experience in coaching staff, training, and facilitation, preferred
- Highly detail-oriented, able to work independently and multi-task
- Effectively demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills in English, and ideally in Spanish
- Familiarity with CO State and federal labor laws
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office (including Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word)
- Ability to travel within the county if needed to visit FIRC locations. Valid driver’s license, and minimal state mandated auto-insurance.
