Description:
The Department of Physical Therapy invites applications for a full-time, 12-month, non-tenure-track core faculty member at the Clinical Assistant Professor rank to join our dynamic and collaborative team. The successful candidate will have expertise in the Neurological/Geriatic area.

Application reviews will begin in mid-September 2024 and continue until the position is filled. Compensation will be commensurate with experience and credentials.

The Department of Physical Therapy at Baylor University is home to a 2-year hybrid DPT program, an orthopedic physical therapy residency, and an interdepartmental collaborative PhD program. We seek an innovative faculty member with a primary teaching role to join our department in meeting its mission to advance societal health through innovative education, connection, leadership, and research in physical therapy.

The Department of Physical Therapy is fully hybrid, with faculty and staff who live across the United States. Faculty may live and lead remotely but must be willing to travel to/work in Waco, TX, for designated periods, including weekends.

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include teaching entry-level DPT students in areas of neurological, geriatric, and general physical therapist practice, coaching/mentoring graduate students, engaging in scholarship, and participating in institutional and professional service. Applicants with a background in innovative teaching and learning and experience collaborating remotely with a diverse population of students, faculty, and staff in a hybrid environment are encouraged to apply.

The budgeted salary range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position is $100,000.00- $110,000.00. This range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including, but not limited to, experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certification, analysis of internal equity, and other business and organizational needs.

Qualifications:
Required:

A doctoral degree in physical therapy (DPT, tDPT), ABPTS board certification in either Neurological or Geriatric Physical Therapy, along with clinical and DPT-level teaching experience in both neurological and geriatric physical therapy, are required. The candidate must exhibit a collaborative working style (strong communication and interpersonal skills) with faculty and students and model a philosophy consistent with the Department of Physical Therapy’s vision and values and Baylor University’s Christian mission. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Preferred:

As this is primarily a teaching position, demonstrated growth, scholarly work, and professional service regarding pedagogy are preferred, along with previous university-level teaching experience with hybrid, online, or “flipped” educational formats.
