  • Join the Architecture team at UWA to contribute to an innovative forward-thinking program delivering high quality education and internationally renowned research.
  • Level B, teaching intensive part-time appointment (0.5 FTE) on a fixed term basis for 12 months (with the possibility of ongoing appointments)
  • Base salary range: $108,509 – $128,404 p.a. (pro-rata) plus 17% superannuation

About the team

The Discipline of Architecture in the School of Design offers undergraduate and postgraduate degree courses as well as research-based doctoral degrees. Academics in the discipline deliver high quality teaching and conduct high quality research.

About the opportunity

We are looking for individuals who will enthusiastically support the strategic ambitions of the Architecture discipline to drive a future-focused and outward looking agenda, grounded in our unique positioning on the Indian Ocean Rim in the world’s most populous region and in an environment of extraordinary biodiversity. As the appointee, you will be under the supervision of the Dean/Head of School, and be expected to contribute to teaching and service within the School, University, and wider community.

About you 

We are looking for highly motivated individuals to expand our community of teaching academics in areas delivering core knowledge and skills and fundamental to professional accreditation.

To be considered for this opportunity, you will demonstrate:

  • Professional qualification in Architecture (Master of Architecture or equivalent)
  • Registration or eligible to be registered as an architect in Western Australia with current practice experience (desirable)
  • Demonstrated interest in design development and construction documentation stages of architecture, with ability to translate into curriculum and teaching initiatives
  • Demonstrated interest in thermal analysis and whole of life carbon analysis, with ability to translate into curriculum and teaching initiatives
  • Demonstrated personal commitment to, and achievement in, high quality teaching and communication of that achievement to others
  • Demonstrated willingness to be involved in academic and professional activities and in school policy development and administrative matters
  • Willingness to work within the legislative requirements of the University and support the University’s commitment to equity
  • Willingness to generate teaching materials for practice-based units including handouts, checklists, reference guides, and like quality assurance practice-based manuals
