Essential Job Duties
- Provide the primary technician support for the Equine and Farm Animal Emergency Services. Assist veterinarians with examinations, procedures, stabilization, diagnostics, treatments, animal handling, and restraint.
- Manage emergency cases from start to finish, including communication, logistics, setup, clean up, medical record documentation, financials, diagnostic sample management, etc.
- Act as a liaison to all other areas of the hospital, including communication with treatment technicians and support services.
- Maintain supplies and equipment, including repair schedules.
- Participate in on call schedule and holiday rotations as needed for main hospital caseload.
- Serve secondarily as a treatment technician to ensure hourly treatments are completed.
- Ensure compliance with all Infectious Disease protocols.
- Assist with the teaching of students, interns, and House Officers of all aforementioned duties.

- Ability to lift up to 70 pounds.
- Ability to work beyond scheduled work hours when needed.
- Ability to work effectively as a member of a team and be an active participant in problem solving and team advancement.
- Ability to work effectively with computers, electronic medical record software, Microsoft products, Google products, etc.
- Ability to maintain physical work for extended periods of time.
- Ability to work independently and practice good judgment to ensure high-quality care for all patients and request assistance when needed.
