This position will serve as an information analyst providing reporting and data analysis to key college stakeholders, and cooperating with IT/IS to support and enhance enterprise data management integrations. Provides technical support for software and database systems used by the college. The college uses the Colleague ERP system by Ellucian as our main information system.
Specific Position Duties
Provide support for various offices and users. Participate in the ongoing maintenance and upkeep of college databases and systems. Communicate and engage with business units to develop a strong understanding of reporting, data, and application needs. Work with various teams to define requirements for projects, identify data dependencies and relationships that adhere to enterprise information guidelines. Provide guidance and support for IS related college initiatives. Maintain adherence to institutional information security requirements and assist in oversight to ensure applications follow all regulations and procedures. Assist in developing procedures to ensure the integrity of Colleague ERP systems and databases. Assist in ensuring applications adhere to regulations and policies governing data management, including internal policies concerning security, auditing and privacy. Support ad hoc data requests within the existing governance and security policies and best practices. Develop reports and visualization of information for Odessa College using available tools such as Power BI and Microsoft SQL Reporting Services. Solve complex data-related problems using a variety of technical and analytical skills. Build a thorough understanding of Colleague ERP systems in order to assign appropriate access to users within differing levels across the institution. Troubleshoot internal application and database connectivity/structure problems on a timely basis. Build and maintain connections with business, technical staff, and extended support entities for resolution of ERP issues. Document applications and provide cross-functional training as needed. Work with end users on all functional modules to document business needs/requirements for upgrades and enhancements. Maintain confidentiality of information exposed to in the course of business regarding students, supervisors or other employees.
Minimum Qualifications
- Associate’s Degree in Computer Science or a closely related field.
- Demonstrated knowledge of systems analysis and information technology principles.
- Experience with reporting and analytic applications.
- Experience with understanding and writing SQL.
- Customer service minded and solutions oriented.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work with a wide variety of problems and personalities, while continuing to promote a professional and pleasant demeanor.
Work Hours
