Mobile Equipment Specialist
Job Description
PurposeMonitors the Preventative Maintenance for both on-highway and off-highway equipment located in region. Oversees the provision of quality and timely repair work for both scheduled and unscheduled repairs.

Technical / Specialty Area
- Formulates repair estimates for damaged construction equipment
- Manages preventive maintenance program
- Schedules repairs and manpower for company equipment
- Approves invoices for warranty work, sub-contracted work and component purchases
- Documents and manages environmental issues, including disposal of hazardous materials
- Opens and Closes Work Orders
- Orients employees to equipment, processes and company policies
- Attends Mobile Equipment staff meetings, Foreman Safety meetings and additional administrative meetings, as needed
- Meets with vendors regarding repairs, rentals and parts purchases
- Drives a company pickup truck to oversee field repair decisions, to speak with foremen about equipment damages
- Drives to vendors and for off-site errands to pick up parts, tools or materials, as needed
- Drives to meetings and washes truck, for safety and appearance
- Tracks service histories and preventive maintenance reports
- Uses e-mail to send photos, estimates and correspondence
- Responsible for signing bills of lading
- Helps to unload incoming parts and components
- May operate a forklift to unload large components, such as hitches, tires or motors
- May engage in sedentary work and/or safety training as designated by employer

Job Qualifications & Requirements
Education:
- High School diploma, required
- First Aid and CPR Training, encouraged
- Ten to fifteen years' experience with Heavy Equipment
- Successful completion of pre-employment drug, alcohol, and background investigation
- Valid California Driver's License, Class C
- Company Forklift Certification
- Current on all company required safety and regulatory training
- Ability to preserve confidential and proprietary information and successfully avoid conflicts-of-interest
- Comprehensive understanding of the end-to-end strategic sourcing process
- Excellent understanding of the construction industry, particularly in infrastructure/heavy construction
- Ability to build and lead cross-functional teams
- General financial analysis skills
- Strong ability using rigorous logic and sound reasoning to solve difficult problems
- Ability to perform total cost analysis
- Ability to plan and manage projects
- Ability to perform procurement-related economic financial analyses
- Driven to meeting or exceeding business and financial milestones
- Excellent judgment and decision-making
