In addition, the Sr. Audio Visual Technologist provides creative as well as technical audiovisual solutions and assumes the role of primary campus subject matter expert and contact for these systems as they relate to USNH audio-visual classroom standards.
This position is part of the Client Services team at Keene State College and requires a candidate with excellent customer service skills and strong technical expertise. Works as part of an on-campus flexible technology support team that can handle a variety of routine and urgent technology needs, including basic Audio-Visual (AV) troubleshooting and support, end-user support, and desktop (endpoint) support.

- Bachelor’s degree and two years of experience in information technology field, Associate’s and four years, or combination of education and experience equal to five years.
- Technical competence with audiovisual, computer and control system integration as well as audio and video signal characteristics.
- Project management experience and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated ability to consult with clients to provide needs analysis for AV (sound, projection, lighting and video streaming) for live and virtual events. Serve as the lead technician on site for event AV including sound reinforcement, projection and direct view digital displays, seamless video switching, theatrical lighting, playback system programing and operation, networking for system synchronization and control.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate professionally, accurately, and effectively through verbal, written, and telephone communication, with the ability to understand and respond to user questions in a timely, courteous and effective manner.
- Enjoy interacting with customers and providing them with excellent service. Have strong analytical skills and can explain technical procedures and instructions in simple terms. Can work well with users from diverse backgrounds and experiences and at levels within the college and organization.
- Demonstrated strong customer-focused support skills.
- Valid driver’s license.
- May be required to do some limited travel in their own vehicle to other USNH campuses providing technology; to contribute to USNH projects; and provide vacation or vacancy coverage.
Additional Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated knowledge of and experience using a variety of Remote Support Tools to support and resolve a user’s technology needs in a variety of settings.
- Experience mentoring or coaching student workers/young adults.
- Experience working with a team to plan and successfully implement projects.
- Additional technology certifications (ITIL, ITSM, CompTIA A+, Microsoft Fundamentals, etc.)
- Proven knowledge of/or experience with USNH acceptable computing practices, and security policies and procedures is also highly desirable.
- Experience in higher education.

- Responsible for planning, coordination, installation and maintenance of all AV equipment located in over 120 technology equipped classrooms, meeting and performance spaces and coordinates the upgrade process for existing spaces in coordination with the Institution’s annual upgrade cycle and on behalf of other college constituents.
- Use the AV VLAN to monitor/ restore the networked AV equipment. Work in tight coordination with Learning Space Technology engineering team assist in the design and maintenance of integrated audio/visual technology in the various classrooms, conference rooms, and event spaces, ensuring standardization room to room, ease of use for clients.
- Responsible for maintaining overall campus audiovisual standards in design, coordination and installation of AV equipment in all campus teaching, meeting and event spaces. Coordinate and oversee all preventative maintenance to keep equipment in good operating order.
- Assist in upgrading spaces with the latest technologies; oversee projects to execute.
- In coordination with and with assistance from Learning Design and Applications Support teammates, provide hands-on training, demonstrations and orientations to faculty and staff on the features and operation of classroom and conference room technology.
- Maintain standard USNH ET&S ITSM practices by understanding and reporting all incidents and service requests through the ITSM incident/ service reporting tool, currently TeamDynamix.
Duty/Responsibility
- Assist the larger Client Services team with projects and life-cycle replacements in Labs and Classrooms.
- Provide general Tier 1 support of faculty, staff and students in the classroom with a variety of academic technology platforms.
- Provide positive training and coaching to faculty to support their use of appropriate technology to support their teaching.
- Uses the USNH Hardware Asset inventory to maintain accurate records of campus equipment inventory to help inform with Life Cycle Replacment schedule.
Duty/Responsibility
- Maintain database of asset/ equipment inventory; e.g. loaner pool, special event equipment and classroom equipment inventories.
- Work to match appropriate classroom and loaner technology to the specific needs of faculty.
- Assist with creating documentation and quick-start guides.
- Assist with website creation and other means of communication to support customer service.
