We are seeking a Preschool Director to join our campus leadership teams in Montgomery County. Georgetown Hill Early School is a non-profit school serving Maryland families' preschool, elementary, and childcare needs since 1980. Our mission is to join teachers, children, and their families to create an unsurpassed early childhood educational experience.
Our Director position is full-time, Monday through Friday. Your role will be to successfully operate a busy preschool campus in a way that aligns with our organizational core values.
Pay range: starting at $65K
What You Will Do:
- Demonstrate effective leadership among campus-level staff
- Support the creation of a nurturing and warm school environment for all present
- Facilitate the day-to-day operations of a busy preschool campus
- Spearhead the enrollment of a campus including marketing efforts, managing the campus CRM module, giving tours to prospective families, and following through on company protocol for enrolling new families
- Managing campus HR operations including creating in-ratio staffing patterns, supporting professional development, payroll protocol, and supporting positive staff morale
- Read, interpret, and implement all MSDE and OCC rules to ensure a campus is within regulation; this includes maintaining and/or accelerating MSDE accreditation and EXCELS ratings
- Maintain and respect confidentiality of student, family, colleague, and school information, and other sensitive data, in accordance with company policy and applicable law
Requirements:
Our ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of relevant leadership experience and the following credentials/skills:
- Bachelor's degree in early childhood education or related field, OR non-education related degree coupled with MSDE 90hr Preschool and Infant & Toddler Certification, OR CDA with Preschool and Infant & Toddler Endorsement.
- Preference is given to candidates who hold the MSDE 45hr Administration Certification
- A personal demeanor that is warm, friendly, and cool-tempered
- Proficient technological skills to utilize various productivity tools
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including grammar and reading skills
- Extremely reliable in attendance and punctuality
- Highly organized and able to prioritize and multi-task
- Team-oriented and willing to work with others
- Excellent understanding of the principles of child development and instructional strategies
- Strong knowledge of MSDE regulations
Per Maryland State Department of Education Office of Child Care regulations, all applicants must submit to and successfully pass a state and federal background check as a contingency of employment. Applicants for our federal center campuses must receive GSA-security clearance through a government background screening.
