The Role

As we continue to grow as QuidelOrtho, we are seeking an IT Business Analyst Lead reporting within the Information Technology Commercial team to become an integral part of our Market to Order team. The IT Business Analyst is a vital link between business needs and information technology capabilities. The ideal candidate can conceptualize the gaps between current and future state scenarios and can effectively articulate in both verbal and written communications, how to bridge these gaps with solutions that will help our partners and customers to achieve their goals.

Principal accountabilities of this position are to help identify, design, develop, interpret and document requirements and process improvements for existing systems (Salesforce.com Sales & Service Clouds, Adobe Experience Manager, Pardot, etc.) and to proactively deliver process and technology solutions. This person will support initiatives & sustainment activities using our SDLC process.

This is a hands-on position that delivers thought leadership, business process knowledge and expertise. The IT Business Analyst will be a key influencer in clarifying business needs to support business goals along the market to lead and lead to order processes. This role requires an excellent understanding of the business environment, to assist in defining scope and articulating clear user stories with acceptance criteria, partnering with stakeholders within and outside of IT. This position ideally is suited to a self-motivated individual, capable of operating with minimal levels of supervision. This position can be located in San Diego, CA, Rochester, NY, Raritan, NJ or remote. Travel 0-5%

The Responsibilities

  • Gather functional and non-functional requirements and draft user stories using the Agile/Scrum methodology with acceptance criteria
  • Define and articulate product features, configuration, specifications, and user stories
  • Work with stakeholders, Project Managers and developers to ensure alignment with requirements
  • Collaborate in an Agile environment with cross-functional teams
  • Participate in product development, testing, user acceptance, deployment, and post-implementation support
  • Monitor project progress by tracking development activity, resolving bottlenecks, and publishing status reports
  • Develop an understanding of the features, capabilities, and limitations in market to order platforms
  • Communicate with senior management, team members and business partners regarding progress in writing and daily meetings
  • Follow standard IT prioritization and change management processes
  • Follow System Development Lifecycle (SDLC) process to design, develop and test complex solutions.
  • Assist the Information Technology Market to Order team to create best practices, standards, procedures, and documentation for market to order systems.
  • Become an expert in business processes, and work with the business to help define and document, requirements to support deployment of new systems as well as enhancements to existing systems.
  • Translates conceptual customer requirements into functional requirements in a clear manner that is comprehensible to developers/project team.
  • Assists with the interpretation of customer requirements into feasible options and communicating these back to the business stakeholders.
  • Research, reviews, and analyzes the effectiveness and efficiency of existing requirements-gathering processes and develop strategies for enhancing or further leveraging these processes.
  • Creates process models, specifications, diagrams, and charts to provide direction to developers and/or the project team.
  • Manages and tracks the status of requirements throughout the project lifecycle; enforce and redefine as necessary.
  • Perform other work-related duties as assigned.

The Individual

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in related field (Marketing, HR, Business Administration, Information Technology, Computer Science) or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge skills and abilities.
  • 3 years' experience analyzing, documenting complex business processes, developing business Information Systems requirements with emphasis on Market to Order business processes and IT solutions.
  • Excellent listening, interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail, ability to prioritize and multitask
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Organized with excellent time-management skills
  • Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Experience partnering with a matrix teamed of professionals and communicating with various levels of management is highly desired. Ability to work with all levels of the organization, both technical and non-technical.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships throughout the organization, and collaborate with other departments and teams
  • Ability to determine customer-specific needs and put forth actions to meet those need
  • Logical and efficient, with keen attention to detail and high level of accuracy
  • Proven experience with business and technical requirements analysis, elicitation, modeling, verification, and methodology development
  • Lead ongoing reviews of business processes and developing optimization strategies.

Preferred Skills:

  • Salesforce.com platform (Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Pardot) experience
  • Adobe Experience Manager experience
  • Knowledge of business strategy and consulting methodologies as well as quality and process improvement methods such as Six Sigma, Lean, etc.

The Work Environment

No strenuous physical activity, though occasional light lifting of files and related materials is required. 30% of time in meetings, working with team, or talking on the phone, 70% of the time at the desk on computer, doing analytical work. Minimal travel required. Travel includes airplane, automobile travel and overnight hotel.

Salary Transparency

The salary range for this position takes into account a wide range of factors including education, experience, knowledge, skills, geography, and abilities of the candidate, in addition to internal equity and alignment with market data. At QuidelOrtho, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The salary range for this position is $64,300 to $118,000 and is bonus eligible or eligible for incentive compensation. QuidelOrtho offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance, along with a 401(k) plan, employee assistance program, Employee Stock Purchase Plan, paid time off (including sick time), and paid Holidays. All benefits are non-contractual, and QuidelOrtho may amend, terminate, or enhance the benefits provided, as it deems appropriate.
