In this critical role, you will be a key partner to R&D leadership, providing data-driven insights and financial expertise to optimize resource allocation and drive the development of groundbreaking products. You will play a central role in analyzing project costs, evaluating ROI, and ensuring that our R&D investments deliver maximum value.
What You'll Do:
- Optimize R&D Investments: Develop robust business models and frameworks to evaluate the financial viability of R&D projects, assess potential ROI, and prioritize initiatives based on strategic impact
- Drive Operational Efficiency: Analyze R&D spending, identify cost optimization opportunities, and implement strategies to improve resource allocation and streamline processes
- Lead Budget Planning & Management:Spearhead the annual budgeting and forecasting process for the R&D organization, collaborating with engineering and product teams to develop accurate forecasts and allocate resources effectively
- Deliver Actionable Insights:Conduct in-depth analysis of R&D performance, including project cost tracking, resource utilization, and return on investment, to identify areas for improvement and inform strategic decision-making
- Influence Key Stakeholders: Prepare compelling presentations and reports that effectively communicate R&D performance, budget proposals, and investment recommendations to senior management and other stakeholders
What You'll Bring:
- Proven Experience: 3+ years of experience in business operations, finance, or a related field, with a strong focus on ROI analysis and cost optimization
- Analytical Expertise: Exceptional analytical and financial modeling skills, with a deep understanding of financial statements and key performance indicators
- Strategic Thinking: Ability to translate data into actionable insights that drive strategic decision-making and resource allocation
- Collaborative Approach: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with R&D teams and other stakeholders
- Passion for Technology: A strong interest in technology and innovation, with a desire to contribute to the development of cutting-edge products
- Drive for Results:A self-starter with a strong work ethic and a proven track record of delivering impactful results.
- Native-Japanese speaking skills: The role requires high-degree of interface with executives and professionals in Japan - so native Japanese language proficiency is highly desirable.
Bonus Points:
- Experience working in the software industry, particularly with R&D teams.
- Familiarity with embedded software development methodologies in semiconductor industry.

The salary range for this role is $140,000 to $169,000. Actual compensation packages within this range are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate and role requirements, including but not limited to skill set, years and depth of experience, certifications, and specific location.
