Research Technologist
Job Description
The Johns Hopkins Krieger School of Arts and Sciences (KSAS) seeks a casual Research Technologist to join the school's Mind Brain Institute. This position will analyze video footage for behavioral scoring of behavioral in groups of primates at the Johns Hopkins University large breeding facility.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities
- Operate video surveillance readback system.
- Archive disks with video data.
- Scan surveillance videos of 4 monkey groups.
- Identify individual monkeys and score behaviors.
- Save behaviors and times in database.
Special Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Ability to differentiate individuals within primate groups.
- Ability to differentiate agonistic and affiliative behaviors including physical aggression, threats displayed, submissive displays, affiliative behavior, including grooming, proximity, and status physical contact.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Biology, Chemistry or related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in neuroscience preferred.
- Some related post-undergraduate work experience preferred.
- Prior experience in a laboratory setting.

Starting Salary Range: $15.70 - $26.25 HRLY (Commensurate with experience)
Employee group: Casual / On Call
Schedule: Monday through Friday, hours vary
