The University of Notre Dame Operations, Events, and Safety division is currently hiring for the position of Pastry Cook (Temporary) within the department of Morris Inn. The University Operations, Events, and Safety division leads the University’s event management, hospitality, and customer service functions while supporting student life, academic endeavors, and research initiatives.
Why this position?
This Pastry Cook (temporary) position is responsible for assisting in the production and execution of recipes following accepted culinary practices in a high volume, fast-paced atmosphere. This position supports the mission and goals of a “best in class” dining program for students and guests of Notre Dame. The Pastry Cook (Temporary) will support daily productions for Three Leaf Catering. He/she will complete or assist in completing general assignments related to the scaling, mixing, cooking/ baking, assembly, set up, and decorating of pastries through standards of service and hospitality, ensuring the Notre Dame Community and guests with the very best food and service.

Minimum Qualifications
Basic baking and kitchen equipment knowledge is preferred, but not required. Weekend availability required.
Preferred Qualifications
Pastry cooks should have excellent baking and organizational skills, be creative, passionate about food, and able to work well in a team environment as well as individually. They should also have good math skills for measuring ingredients and modifying recipes, and technical knowledge for operating ovens and other large bakery machinery as well as being able to stand for long periods of time and be able to lift up to fifty pounds. Schedule varies based on business needs.
