Program Quality Specialist - Professional Development
Job Description
We are seeking a Program Quality Specialist - Professional Development. The Center for Technology in Education implements a wide range of technical assistance and professional development K-12 initiatives to support selected federal, state, and local school district projects. The primary function of this position is to assist in the development of printed and online resources; implementation and evaluation of these grant- and contract-driven initiatives, including development of associated online and print resources.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities
Planning and Consultation - (20%)
- Provide consultation for monitoring grant and contract activities, creating face-to-face and online professional development resources, informing dissemination of key early learning, K-12, and leadership programs and models.
Development - (40%)
- Conduct literature reviews, create face-to-face and online professional development resources, and assist in development of technical assistance models related to early learning, K-12, transitioning, special education, inclusion, and global leadership.
Implementation - (30%)
- Assist in the implementation of face-to-face and online technical assistance, particularly intensive practices and coaching delivered (face-to-face and online) via academies, institutes, webinars, and communities of practices.
Project Management - (10%)
- Attend project management planning meetings and provide documentation and data for progress reporting and evaluation.
- Degree of independent action performed on the job
- Types of resources needed to support effective delivery of assigned professional development initiatives.
- Communication with internal and external participants related to assigned projects.
- Management of work schedule, production timelines and priorities, and deadlines.
- Internal and external contacts required as part of the job: Internal contacts include CTE and School of Education personnel.
- External contacts include but are not limited to federal and state technical assistance providers, and local school district personnel.
Special Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Self-directed with a teamwork orientation.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Strong online proficiency.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in early childhood or related field.
- Three years related experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Five years related experience including,
- Experience working in or with state agencies, local school districts, schools, and national technical assistance providers.
- Experience in providing technical assistance training at targeted and intensive levels.
- Experience in developing print and online resources related to effective leadership, systems change, teamwork, specially designed instruction, formative assessment, and coaching.
- Experience with online technology.
- Experience with program evaluation.
- Experience with evaluation procedures, including developing logic maps, assessing progress, and generating mid and annual reports.
