Network Design Engineer - Secret Clearance Required

Job Overview This remote Network Engineer position requires an active Secret Clearance and occasional travel to a Navy base for SIPR access. The role involves configuring and testing network solutions based on requirements from the Network Architect, with a focus on Aruba wireless devices. The engineer will collaborate with various teams to ensure security standards are met and handle extensive documentation for solution approval. Key skills include experience with Aruba wireless, Cisco routers and switches, and a strong understanding of routing protocols and VPN technologies.Job Description Clearance Requirements
* *Active Fully Secret Clearance*: All candidates must have a current active fully secret clearance to be considered for this position.
* *SIPR Access*: Candidates must be able to commute to a Navy base for SIPR access. While regular visits are not required, candidates may need to travel to a Navy base once a month to maintain SIPR access.
Interview Process
* *Prescreening*: All candidates must pass a prescreen with one of our current team members before moving to the final interview.
Work Location
* *Remote Work*: This individual will be able to work 100% remotely. However, they must be located near a Navy base or Joint Naval base for SIPR access.
Project Overview
* *Aruba Wireless*: The Navy has selected Aruba as their wireless device. TEKsystems does not currently have anyone with this experience, so they are looking to us to identify this consultant. We have the exclusive on this position.
Job Duties
* *Network Configuration*: Obtain requirements from the Network Architect and translate them into network (router and switch) configurations.
* *Test Planning*: Develop a test plan for the designed configuration.
* *Requirement Verification*: Ensure the designed solution meets all requirements outlined by the architect.
* *Collaboration*: Work with other groups (e.g., Information Assurance, network security teams) to ensure the solution meets security standards.
* *Documentation*: Handle extensive documentation required for solution approval, which can be tedious and involve a lot of red tape.
* *Project Example*: Transition VPN functionality from Juniper to Cisco VPN solution (GetVPN).
Required Skills
* *Security+ CE*: Certification required.
* *Aruba Certification*: Highly preferred.
* *Wireless Networks*: Experience with Aruba devices is a must.
* *Cisco Experience*: Strong engineering and configuration experience with Cisco routers and switches (CCNP level).
* *OSI Layers*: Strong understanding of OSI layers II and III.
* *Transport Boundary System*: Knowledge of design and system interfaces.
* *Routing Protocols*: Expertise with OSPF, BGP, EIGRP (IPv4/IPv6).
* *VPN*: Strong understanding of VPN technologies.
* *Operations-Oriented Engineering*: Experience with strategies for maintaining functional production systems during transitions.
* *Test Plan Documentation*: Experience with creating test plans and procedures.
* *WAN Edge Design*: Experience with WAN edge design and engineering.
* *Network Segmentation*: Experience with logical/virtual network segmentation techniques.
Preferred Experience
* *Government Networks*: Experience working on government networks.
* *RMF*
* *JIE Constructs*: Understanding of Base Node.
Clearance and Citizenship
* *DoD Clearance*: This position requires an active DoD Clearance (Secret, Top Secret, Top Secret/SCI) or the ability to obtain an Interim Secret or Interim Top Secret clearance.
* *U.S. Citizenship*: Required due to clearance requirements.
