About the Role:
Actively participates in commercial planning efforts by planning and leading actionable analyses, integrating findings across multiple studies / analyses, and communicating results persuasively to senior leadership to drive action and impact. Researches and analyzes the company's products, markets, and competition. Gathers relevant data through primary market research, secondary analytics and competitive intelligence to build a cohesive point of view, and clearly articulates implications to leadership. Analyzes and summarizes data, both independently and through collaboration with other analytics and insights team members, into insights and recommendations that are presented to cross-functional teams and senior leadership._
Your Contributions (include, but are not limited to):Acts on behalf of commercial analytics, insights, and competitive intelligence team as the core strategic partner and advisor to cross-functional stakeholders at senior levels. Serves as strong ambassador of the team to build relationships and trust with stakeholders to deeply understand needs, execute and guide our team's work to meet needs, and synthesize and present findings persuasively
Connects and integrates commercial analytics, insights, and competitive intelligence team to ensure that work is aligned with stakeholder needs and produces actionable insights, and synthesizes multiple workstreams into a consistent point of view across our team as we engage with stakeholders
Leads peers and junior team members without formal authority, will be responsible for motivating team members to execute ad hoc analyses and data to quickly answer questions and drive insight for brand stakeholders
For assigned area or project(s), independently develops the commercial analytics plan, manages related projects, and collects and manages the data in support of the overall plan, or collaborate with key business partners to develop short- and long-range forecasts, integrating emerging market dynamics and competitive assessments
Synthesizes complex information from multiple sources (primary market research, secondary analytics, competitive intelligence), identifies opportunities, and develops conclusions and recommendations that can be used by Commercial leadership to make better business decisions, better understand customer segments, competitive threats, and to identify opportunities and potential risks. Leverages primary research data and secondary data sources to build accurate and evidenced-based forecasting models
Conducts commercial analytics in one or more of the following areas: targeting, segmentation, promotion evaluation and tracking, launch support, resource allocation optimization, and ad hoc statistical analyses, competitive intelligence, primary market research, and forecasting
Conducts advanced analytics in any of the following areas: targeting, segmentation, promotion evaluation and tracking, launch support, resource allocation optimization, ad hoc statistical analyses, and forecasting
Provides strategic input to help shape the annual brand plan, brand/payer strategies, the launch plan and development of key performance indicators
Plans and leads the execution of one or more commercial analytics projects with potential broad impact: recommending the appropriate methodology, participating in selecting the vendor, developing the questionnaire/discussion guides with the appropriate internal feedback/input, leading implementation, analyzing results, presenting the findings to key internal customers, developing actionable recommendations, tracking brand performance and forecast accuracy through weekly dashboards and driving continuous improvement in forecast models and processes
Manages the development of the analytics budget and manages all approved budgets. Serves as a consultative, trusted advisor to Commercial leadership. Develops scenarios including key risks and opportunities to clearly characterize uncertainties and key drivers in the forecasts
Builds, manages and maintains relationships with key vendors of market research, secondary data, and competitive intelligence. Partners with Marketing and Commercial Insights & Analytics to identify market research and CI activities to be explored as an input to future forecasts
Regularly communicates with senior executives and strategic partners to report analytical findings and their impacts on forecasts, inventory management and key performance metrics/indicators

BS/BA degree and 10+ years of a combination of secondary analytics, primary market research, and/or competitive intelligence experience within the biotechnology/pharmaceutical industry OR
Masters and 8+ years of similar experience noted above OR
PhD and 5+ years of similar experience noted above
Working experience with biopharmaceutical market data (meaning of data, limitations of data, ability to manipulate, etc.) including IQVIA / Symphony / Komodo anonymized patient-level data, detailing, shipment, and other related datasets
Business knowledge of pharmaceutical sales, marketing and access/reimbursement with the ability to identify market drivers, trends, issues, etc
Working knowledge of the various methodologies of collecting and analyzing secondary data, primary market research, and competitive intelligence
Strong communication skills (verbal and written); proven ability to work cross functionally and liaise across stakeholders with a variety of non-technical backgrounds
Proven experience with the AIML technology stack, (Python, Snowflake, Databricks, various libraries, etc.) and other development and distributed computing platforms
Track record of innovating through machine learning and statistical algorithms and their applications
Drives workstreams on highly complex issues or business / scientific problems
Considered an expert within the company and may have external presence in area of expertise
Uses critical thinking, analytical thought and judgment to plan, implement solutions resulting in broad impact
Applies in-depth understanding and may guide others on how own discipline integrates within the department as well as impact to other departments and understands contribution to Neurocrine's achievement of business objectives
Excellent leadership, mentoring skills and abilities typically leads junior and/or indirect teams
Excellent communications, problem-solving, analytical thinking skills
Independently meets multiple deadlines across a variety of projects/programs, with a high degree of accuracy and efficiency
Excellent organizational skills and expertise managing multiple, large projects simultaneously

The annual base salary we reasonably expect to pay is $167,000.00-$241,925.00. Individual pay decisions depend on various factors, such as primary work location, complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills. In addition, this position offers an annual bonus with a target of 30% of the earned base salary and eligibility to participate in our equity based long term incentive program. Benefits offered include a retirement savings plan (with company match), paid vacation, holiday and personal days, paid caregiver/parental and medical leave, and health benefits to include medical, prescription drug, dental and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans.
