Community Support Network is excited to announce that we are seeking dedicated Residential Counselors to join our team in Santa Rosa. We have multiple full-time positions available across various shifts to accommodate diverse schedules.
Our program operates a 15-bed residential home specifically designed for women facing behavioral health challenges. This environment promotes independent living within a supportive communal setting, where our staff work closely with residents to foster personal growth and recovery. Each week, we offer group programs that emphasize essential life skills, including money management, access to community resources, and health and nutrition education.
Our staff actively encourage participation in support groups such as Alcoholics Anonymous (AA), 12-Step programs, Seeking Safety, Narcotics Anonymous (NA), and dual recovery support groups. This initiative aims to enhance both emotional and physical well-being while equipping individuals with positive coping strategies on their journey toward recovery and independence.

Essential Job Functions:
The primary responsibilities of this position involve cultivating and sustaining positive, supportive, and respectful relationships with residents. This role includes providing supportive and educational services within a framework of social rehabilitation.
Key duties consist of:
- Assisting residents with activities of daily living,
- Organizing and facilitating group activities
- Managing medication schedules
- Daily Meal preparation.
Additionally, maintaining comprehensive documentation is crucial; this includes progress notes for clients, incident reports, and any other special reports as necessary.
Candidates must be able adherence to established guidelines, policies, and procedures while working with residents is essential. It is critical to implement crisis prevention and intervention strategies that are informed by trauma-sensitive practices. Regular reviews of charts and filing tasks also form part of the responsibilities associated with this role.
Minimum Education/Job Requirements:
Candidates must hold at least a high school diploma or GED. They should also fulfill all licensing requirements relevant to the position.
Key Skills Necessary for Success in This Role Include:
- Excellent observation and listening skills.
- The ability to adapt and thrive in a dynamic work environment while establishing and maintaining professional boundaries with residents.
- Strong interpersonal skills that allow the individual to be compassionate towards residents while also being firm in enforcing guidelines and policies.
- Specific experience in residential social rehabilitation is preferred.
