Sr. Contracts Associate
Job Description
We are seeking a Sr. Contracts Associate who will draft, review, and negotiate research contracts for the School of Medicine in the Office of Research Administration.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities
- Negotiate/draft complex sponsored research agreements as well materials transfer agreements, and data use agreements for assigned departments.
- Work independently and review contracts for completeness and compliance and draft original contracts.
- Participate in the training/guidance of School of Medicine staff and faculty in research compliance.
- Assist in negotiations, drafting, and processing of complex sponsored research agreements and research related agreements.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and competent judgment.
- Organized, bright, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Self-confident, articulate and oriented to assisting faculty to succeed.
Minimum Qualifications
- Advanced Degree (PhD, JD, MS) in related field and relevant specialized training.
- Three years related experience.
- Proficiency with contract agreement drafting and negotiation, preferably in regard to sponsored research.
- Formal training and experience in sponsored research administration, intellectual property management and related topics.
- Demonstrated ability to perceive administrative and regulatory issues and conceptualize how to find solutions and research consensus.
Preferred Qualifications
- Additional education and training related to clinical trials, sponsored research, contracting, science and intellectual property.
Classified Title: Sr. Contracts Associate
Role/Level/Range: ATP/04/PF
Starting Salary Range: $85,500 - $149,800 Annually ($106,000 targeted; Commensurate with experience)

Schedule: M-F/8:30 am - 5 pm
Exempt Status: Exempt
