Summary of Position
Under general supervision of designated supervisor, responsible for the daily coordination, supervision, and assignment of work for a high volume of moves, event set-up/support, repair/installation, and other project work assigned to the Grounds and Events Division in support of the entire campus. Responsible for providing excellent customer service, communicating directly and effectively with stakeholders, coordinating equipment, materials, and other resources in addition to labor needs to meet customer requests. Serve as a department leader and mentor to all Grounds and Events staff.
UNH Facilities is a 24/7/365 operation and this position has responsibilities related to campus safety, emergency response, event support, and wintertime snow operations. Due to the nature of our business, employees may be asked to flex schedules and/or respond to request outside of normal working hours in order to meet the demands of the University. This may include early morning, evenings, weekends and holiday work as needed.

1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Four years of related experience in moving/events/rigging support for a large organization, preferably a college/university or equivalent.
3. Current driver’s license and valid commercial class B motor vehicle license.
4. One year of supervisory experience or completion of professional certification in supervisory skills.
5. Ability to conduct and supervise repairs to landscape infrastructure.
6. Mechanical skill and knowledge of motorized equipment.
7. Knowledge of applicable codes/ordinances.
8. Ability to inspect equipment, determine malfunction and make necessary repairs.
9. Knowledge and ability to use computers, tablets, smart phones, and software systems to perform work duties.
10. Ability to report to work under emergency weather conditions and work a flexible schedule that may include nights and weekends during emergency and weather events.
11. Sufficient strength and physical dexterity to perform duties and responsibilities of this job, including heavy work with exposure to inclement weather conditions for prolonged periods of time.
12. Must be able to wear and use appropriate personal protective equipment as necessary.
13. Solid interpersonal and communication skills, both verbally and written, to effectively communicate with customers, team members, contractors and supervisors.

Duty/Responsibility
Moves and event support/customer service: Respond to work orders and requests related to moves and/or event set-ups. Coordinate, supervise, and assist in the campus wide moving of supplies, furniture, records, and/or entire departments. Track and coordinate multiple requests at a time and estimate labor needs to successfully meet required moves. Work with the Grounds and Events Manager and Supervisors to estimate the number of personnel needed to support events and coordinate their efforts during the event. Responsible for recommending investments/renewal of event support equipment (tables, chairs, etc.) Provide exceptional customer service by responding to requests in a timely manner, communicating status to the customer, and following up when the move/event is complete. Using the work management software, maintain accurate records of work completed, materials used, and time expended.
Duty/Responsibility
Project work: Responsible for the planning of annual campus project work assigned to the Grounds and Events department, to include but not limited to: repainting campus cross-walks and street lines, minor repairs to landscape components such as brick walkways, courtyards or other landscape infrastructure, sustainability programs (recycling), equipment repair/estimates. Provide assistance as needed to the overall grounds department (and support of other facilities organizations as needed) with public works projects, operating heavy construction equipment including trucks, forklift, rollers, and rigging equipment.

Winter snow operations: Participate in the planning, scheduling, and supervision of winter snow removal/plowing. Maintain a plow route as necessary. Participate in the on-call rotation for snow call back and respond to snow/ice calls, including during off hours, as needed.

Leadership and mentorship to the Facilities division. Participate, support, and demonstrate Facilities Forward concepts and contribute to a positive work culture. Demonstrate leadership qualities during work activities. Mentor, develop, and train apprentices and new employees. Oversee and provide feedback about contractors working on campus as needed.
Duty/Responsibility
Safety and training: Follow all safety practices/ policies/procedures, techniques and precautions in performance of duties. Keep current on all required safety trainings, code/license updates and any certifications required. Continuously seek out professional development opportunities that will benefit the University and your technical skills to stay current on technical skills and be knowledgeable of best practices, future trends and technologies.
