Looking for a great opportunity in our upcoming brand new restaurant? Come join the Omni San Diego Hotel F&B team and enjoy a fun, exciting work environment while working with a team of professionals. When working as a Server, this person will proactively offer food and beverage to our guests, take their orders, and enhance their experience with friendly guest service. This position additionally looks after other areas of the guest experience at Ace Porter and works with other Omni associates to ensure our facilities are well-supplied and maintained in tip-top shape at all times.
- Acknowledge and greet all guests, anticipate guest needs, and respond to guest inquiries or requests
- Effectively merchandises food and beverage menus in an informative manner, friendly and enthusiastic manner
- Communicates with food and beverage staff to ensure guest satisfaction
- Clean and resetting of dirty tables according to standards
- Cleaning and polishing of water glasses and silverware
- Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of assigned work areas
- Prepares work area for either opening or closing in accordance with company standards
- Ensure furniture and floors are kept clean and arranged
- Attends staff meetings to receive information and direction
- Contributes to a professional workplace that maximizes employee moral, productivity and effectiveness. Works well with a diverse FOH and BOH staff
- Performs additional responsibilities although not detailed, as requested by a manager
- Insures responsible service of alcohol by following all legal requirements including carding and consumption
- Accurately takes food and beverage orders from guests and promptly records all transactions in the Micros system. Maintains guest tabs and facilitates payment following procedures
- Serves food and beverage to guests following company steps of service and adheres to service times
- Follows daily checklists and side work. Set-ups, stocks and breakdown of service and dining room following procedures. Completes all assigned cleaning duties. Complies with direction and instruction from the management team.
- Must be able to attain a valid San Diego County Food Handler & Responsible Beverage Service certification upon hire if not already certified.
- Must be able to work flexible shifts and schedules, including weekends and holidays.
- Must have guest service experience, preferably in an upscale setting.
- Food and Beverage serving experience preferred.
- Hotel experience preferred.
- Must be able to multi-task in a busy environment, follow through on guest requests, ensure guest satisfaction, and work as a team player.
- Must be able to lift 25 lbs. and stand for extended periods of time.
- Commitment to quality service, and food and beverage knowledge
- Must have strong communication skills
- Must be able to work under moderate supervision
- Maintains a clean and professional image at all times
- Must be 18 or older (position requires the delivery of alcohol to guests).
*Pay: $16.85/hour The pay scale provided is a range that Omni Hotels & Resorts reasonably expects to pay. Actual compensation offered may fluctuate based on a candidate's qualifications and/or experience.
