Research Program Coordinator
Job Description
We are seeking a Research Program Coordinator to assist in the day-to-day logistical and operational tasks for research projects in the Department of Medicine, Division of Cardiology. The Research Program Coordinator will interact with the investigators, collaborators, and patients in a research environment. This person will coordinate all activities of one or more research projects. The coordinator will assist in carrying out research in accordance with Good Clinical Practices in such activities as obtaining informed consent, data and specimen collection, and patient follow-up over time.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities
- Maintain a good working knowledge of all assigned protocols and reporting requirements.
- Adhere to all protocol requirements to ensure validity of clinical research data.
- Interact with clinicians and other gatekeepers to access the patient population.
- Recruit research participants.
- Verify patient eligibility for studies.
- Interview patients.
- Collect patient specimens (e.g., blood, urine, or saliva) and other patient data from a variety of sources.
- Perform noninvasive tests and assessments, including measuring blood pressure, conducting electrocardiograms, and administering six-minute walk tests.
- Schedule follow-up visits.
- Complete chart reviews abstracting data from the electronic health record.
- Enter data into computer databases.
- Maintain paper and computerized research files.
- Participate in research group meetings: schedule meetings; create agendas; complete minutes.
- Prepare mandatory reports and documents/protocols.
- Prepare for and participate in audits and monitoring of studies.
- Assist in preparation and maintenance of IRB protocols and related documents.
- Other related duties as assigned.
Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Must be comfortable collecting saliva, urine, and/or blood samples from patients.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.

- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated strong, positive interpersonal skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively across disciplines and within a variety of cultures.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in related discipline.
- Additional related experience may substitute for required education, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.
Preferred Qualifications
- Related experience in clinical trials/medical research.
- EPIC experience.

Role/Level/Range: ACRO40/E/03/CD
Starting Salary Range: $17.20 - $30.30 HRLY ($45,000 targeted; Commensurate with experience)

Schedule: Mon-Fri 8:30am-5:00pm
