The Theriogenology internship at North Carolina State University is a 1-year program that is clinically-based with an emphasis primarily on equine and canine species, with additional experience in bovine and small ruminant species.
There is 1 full-time board- certified faculty member, and a 2nd emeritus faculty member in the College with expertise in small animal and equine species. There are additional faculty members with board certification in the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine and American College of Veterinary Surgeons with interests in neonatology, urology and other related fields.
The intern in Theriogenology will participate in reproductive cases as well as reproductive emergencies in the equine and small animal hospitals. Clinical duties will also involve participation in the breeding management, embryo transfer and assisted reproductive techniques (ARTs) of mares and stallions housed at the Theriogenology clinic at the Reedy Creek Farm in Raleigh, NC.
The intern will be involved in clinical teaching of veterinary students. The intern will participate in current research projects of the Theriogenology section. Applicants must have a DVM or equivalent degree.
