Summary of Position

The UNH Franklin Pierce School of Law Senior Administrative Assistant for Student Affairs provides diverse and high level administrative and operational support to the Assistant Dean for Students and Chief of Operations and Coordinator for Student Life and Operations. This position serves as a liaison between staff/students/faculty and the student life office s and services as a single point of contact for this office.

Duty/Responsibility

Administrative Support for Assistant Dean for Student Affairs and Chief of Operations
  • Support the Assistant Dean for Student Affairs and Chief of Operations by drafting, editing and sending all correspondence related to student affairs, including Rule 36 forms, Letters of good standing, Withdrawal and Leave of Absence communications and transfer letters, and coordinating these materials with the Registrar’s office as appropriate.
  • Support the Assistant Dean in the management of office related activities and expenses, including managing P-card transactions, Reimbursement forms, invoices, MOU’s and contracts.
  • Support the Assistant Dean and Coordinator of Student Life with event coordination including but not limited to Commencement ceremonies, Orientation events, and other student events. Responsibilities include approving events through the EMS software system, event detail coordination, contract management, sending communications, ordering food, handing set-up/clean-up, registration, etc.
  • Support the Assistant Dean for Students and Student Life Coordinator with student organization event management as needed.
  • Serve as the main point person for external student housing including serving as the main point of contact with VeryApt, answering incoming student questions as needed, communicating with landlords about posting on VeryApt, etc.
  • Serve as the main point person for UNH Law’s 4 student houses including communicating with incoming and returning student renters about their leases, maintaining copies of leases, overseeing and supervising the wait list and policies for wait list (in coordination with the Assistant Dean), liaising with the Assistant Dean concerning the housing annual charges and budget, communicating with Facilities concerning housing concerns related by the students, serving as a main point of contact to students while they are renting for questions or concerns and refer students to the appropriate parties to resolve their issue.
  • Oversee the parking program including managing the permit process and addressing complaints and concerns.
  • Manage the Student Life budget.
  • Oversee the hiring process through PeopleAdmin for student workers.
  • Provide assistance and support to other UNH Law administrative support team members.
