Essential Duties and Responsibilities
    Design, regulatory permitting and compliance, and construction support of general civil and water resources infrastructure projects (e.g., stormwater BMPs/LIDs, grading and drainage, erosion and sediment control, wet utilities, roads, etc.);
  • Hydrologic and hydraulic (H&H) and water quality modeling, analysis, and calculations;
  • Preparation of technical reports and memoranda (e.g., preliminary design/engineering report, drainage study, stormwater quality management plan, SWPPP, etc.)
  • Preparation of technical specifications and contract documents for construction;
  • CAD design and drafting of design/construction documents;
  • Preparation of exhibits and figures;
  • Construction administration, support, oversight, and management;
  • Site visits/field investigations;

Here are some other things you should know about this position:

  • Training: This position requires OSHA health and safety, defensive driving certification, first aid, and CPR training and medical monitoring, paid for by the firm. We also offer professional development opportunities including in-house seminars, webinars, and mentoring, that allow our professionals to build the technical and business skills necessary to become successful consultants.
  • Fieldwork: Up to 50%
  • Overnight travel: Up to 10%

Education and Licensure
  • Bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering (required)
  • Advanced degree in civil or environmental engineering (preferred)
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification (preferred)
Skills, Experience and Qualifications
  • At least 2 years of related professional experience or equivalent combination of education and experience (required)
  • Proficiency with CAD software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, InRoads, Microstation, and OpenRoads. (strongly preferred)
  • Experience with modeling and design software tools such as ArcGIS, ArcMap, EPA-SWMM, FlowMaster, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, HydroCAD, HY-8, and TR-55. (preferred)
  • Experience with land development, permitting, or municipal project implementation. (preferred)
  • Experience with water resources planning and design. (preferred)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. (required)
  • Regular field work and overnight travel. (required)
  • Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and client-driven drug and background testing. (required)
  • Valid U.S. driver's license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)

Below are the potential compensation ranges that we in good faith believe are applicable for this role at the time of this posting and are only applicable for jobs to be performed in the specified California locations below. The typical base salary range for this position is just one component of Geosyntec's total compensation package for employees. Actual compensation will be determined based on education, experience, skill set and location.

  • Minimum: $79,760 /yearly / Maximum: $99,700 /yearly (San Diego)
