The Sr Director, DE&I Learning, Development, and Employee Engagement will report directly to the Chief Diversity Officer. This critical leadership role is responsible for overseeing the design and implementation of comprehensive Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DE&I) training programs and who can translate their knowledge into various platforms and media for the benefit of an engaged and diverse employee population. This role demands expertise in both learning and development strategies and DE&I principles. The Director will lead a team, including the Associate, DE&I Learning and Development, to drive ACS's commitment to an inclusive culture. This remote position offers a unique opportunity to shape organizational change and make a lasting impact on employee understanding and engagement in DE&I principles.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Learning Program Development

Develop and implement the DE&I learning program strategy in alignment with organizational and department goals.

Oversee the design and development of DE&I learning programs, to include curriculum design and LMS management, that meet the organization's strategic needs.

Ensure creating engaging and informative training materials that resonate across diverse employee groups.

Applying adult learning theory concepts for DE&I specific learning experiences across multiple platforms and modalities.

Design and develop "train the trainer" modules to equip internal stakeholders with the skills to effectively facilitate DE&I learning experiences, amplifying the reach of our programs.
Training Facilitation

Supervise the delivery of training sessions on DE&I topics to various audiences, including new hires, leadership, and staff, ensuring alignment with evolving DE&I strategies and goals.

Enhance training methodologies to accommodate different learning styles and maximize effectiveness.

Utilize scientific literature and evidence-based practices to develop new system wide trainings.

Facilitate "train the trainer" sessions to equip internal champions with the knowledge and confidence to deliver impactful DE&I training sessions, fostering a culture of inclusivity throughout the organization.
Employee Engagement

Develop and implement DE&I strategies to increase employee engagement, focusing on integrating DE&I into all aspects of employee experience.

Lead the development of the strategy and associated implementation of initiatives to nurture existing Employee Engagement Groups (EEG), and cultivate new ones, fostering a culture of inclusivity and engagement.

Collaborate with EEG leaders to ensure that group activities, initiatives, and events align with organizational DE&I goals and priorities.

Provide support and guidance to EEG leaders in planning and executing events, workshops, and activities that promote diversity, equity, and inclusion within the organization.

Measure the impact of engagement strategies on organizational culture and employee satisfaction.
Evaluation and Improvement

Conduct regular assessments to identify DE&I learning needs and gaps within the organization, utilizing feedback mechanisms and data analytics to inform program development.

Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of DE&I and engagement programs, using robust analytics to inform continuous improvement.

Report on program success and areas for development to senior management.
Stakeholder Engagement

Collaborate with the People Team, senior leaders, and department heads to align DE&I learning and employee engagement initiatives with overall organizational objectives.

Build partnerships with external DE&I experts to keep abreast of industry trends and best practices.

Serve as an advocate for EEGs within the organization, advocating for resources, support, and recognition from senior leadership and other stakeholders.
Administrative and Coordination
-
Manage schedules and logistics for DE&I and engagement activities, ensuring seamless planning and execution.

Maintain comprehensive records of all training and engagement activities.
Formal Knowledge
-
A bachelor’s degree in human resources, education, organizational development, or a related field is required; a master’s degree is preferred.

Minimum of 8-10 years in training or educational roles significantly focusing on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion curriculum /instructional design & development, and employee engagement required.

Certification in DE&I facilitation.

Expert knowledge of e-learning platforms and virtual training tools.
Competencies and Skills

Advanced facilitation and public speaking skills, capable of inspiring and educating a diverse workforce.

Mastery of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, to support practical data analysis, report generation, and professional communication.

Exceptional organizational and project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple concurrent projects under tight deadlines.

Demonstrated leadership in developing and implementing innovative content and programs that engage and resonate with varied audiences.

Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, with a strong emphasis on empathy and sensitivity in diverse settings.

Demonstrated ability to use data and metrics to demonstrate the impact of learning and development interventions.
Specialized Training or Knowledge
-
Expert knowledge of DE&I principles, educational methodologies, and employee engagement strategies such as: Experiential Learning, Role-Playing and Scenario-Based Learning, Intersectional Approaches, Skills Development, Cultural Competence Building, and Allyship and Advocacy Training.

Demonstrated expertise in both domestic and global DE&I principles and multicultural competence, with a deep understanding of cultural nuances, challenges, and best practices in fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion across diverse contexts.
Special Mental or Physical Demands

Flexibility to adapt to varying work schedules and the capacity to manage a remote team effectively.
The starting rate is $117,000 to $132,000 annual. The final candidate's relevant experience/skills will be considered before an offer is extended. Actual starting pay will vary based on non-discriminatory factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, experience, skills, specialty, and education
