Job Description
Introduction to the jobEquipment engineering leads new product introduction (NPI) to our customer service (CS) organization and provides the means and methods to operate, troubleshoot and maintain the ASML system.
As an equipment engineering intern you will be working in a cross-functional team to ensure a new product meets performance criteria such as serviceability, reliability and availability.
During new product introduction towards customer serviceyou will provide support during system integration and on-site assistance, to validate the product and provide the required training to enable success at the customer site.
Role and responsibilities- Drive the industrialization of electro-mechanical modules and software products by working in multidisciplinary project teams.
- Implement design improvements with respect to RAMS principles (Reliability, Availability, Manufacturability, Serviceability)
- Provide hands-on support to troubleshoot issues on factory prototype machines
- Support new product introduction by troubleshooting complex issues on field systems
- Generate high-quality work instructions and service sequences for the replacement of spare parts
- Participates in sub-system design reviews and evaluates the new product designs for serviceability, quality, and reliability.
- Maintains databases for reliability and availability and advocate for structural improvements
- Assists in conducting time and efficiency studies and develops improved processes based on findings.
- Participate in factory and field tests to qualify new products in conjunction with customer service.
- Coordinate engineering change notices (ECN) and field change orders (FCO) to properly introduce changes and upgrades,
- Junior/Senior year of Bachelor's Degree in Science or Engineering discipline (mechanical, electrical, controls), Industrial Engineering or Reliability Engineering preferred.
- Experience using one or more of the following software packages: Excel, MS Access, LabView, JMP, MS Project, Agile.
- Excellent verbal and writing skills;
- Able to manage and communicate with stakeholders across different regions of the world.
- Good presentation skills.
- MS office suite applications knowledge.
- Strong customer focus and commitment to customer satisfaction through prioritization, quality, efficiency and professionalism.
- This position will be on-site in San Diego, CA. It requires onsite presence to attend in-person work-related events, training courses and meetings and to further ensure teamwork, collaboration, and innovation
- Must be comfortable being able to visit the cleanroom
- No travel
- A flexible workplace arrangement may be available to employees working in roles conducive to remote work (up to two days a week).
This position requires access to controlled technology, as defined in the Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. * 730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work. Business demands may require ASML to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.
