The Role
QuidelOrtho is excited to launch unique opportunities for Active-Duty US Service members with authorization to participate in the DoD Skillbridge program as directed by their respective command. QuidelOrtho is a DoD Skillbridge authorized participant.
DoD SkillBridge authorized Cohorts are available based on full-time open positions that align to the service member's skill sets and experience based upon the requirements of the job description.
As a Contracts IT Analyst, you will embark on a comprehensive 6-month internship journey that will explore IT assessments and vendor questionnaires for QuidelOrtho products. We offer a hands-on experience where you will actively participate in real-world projects, applying cutting-edge tools and methodologies in the rapidly evolving realm of cybersecurity.
This position will be working in a hybrid schedule at our San Diego, CA or Rochester, NY site.
The Responsibilities
- Shadowing senior analysts to understand the importance of information risk, cybersecurity regulations, and best practices.
- Real-world projects: Engaging in compliance assessments, identifying potential areas of non-compliance, and suggesting corrective measures.
- Finalization: Real-world compliance projects, evaluation of in-scope systems or processes, and development of metrics communicated to IT leadership.
- Final reviews and feedback sessions. Intern presentations on findings, understanding, and potential areas of improvement in the compliance realm.
- Perform other work-related duties as assigned.
The Individual
Required:
- Active Duty US Service members authorized to participate in the DoD Skillbridge program.
- High school diploma or equivalent; preferred bachelor's degree in Information Technology.
- Fundamental understanding of cybersecurity principles.
- Ability to learn and adapt quickly in a rapidly evolving field.
- Strong communication abilities for effective collaboration with the team and mentor.
- Capacity to work on projects independently and as part of a team.
Preferred:
- Certificate: Security+, CCNA
The Work Environment
No strenuous physical activity, though occasional light lifting of files and related materials is required. 30% of time in meetings, working with team, or talking on the phone, 70% of the time at the desk on computer, doing analytical work. Minimal travel required. Travel includes airplane, automobile travel and overnight hotel.
Salary Transparency
This is a military transitional program that does not provide compensation through QuidelOrtho. If selected for full-time employment with QuidelOrtho upon completion of SkillBridge you will be eligible for a compensation package and benefits provided by the company.
