Summary of Job Duties:
The William Dillard Department of Accounting in the Sam M. Walton College of Business at the University of Arkansas seeks applications from interested candidates to fill a Tenure Track Assistant Professor position effective August 11, 2025. Salary is competitive and commensurate with education and experience.
Tenure-track faculty of Accounting are expected to conduct research, publish in peer reviewed journals, teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses, and fulfill other related service activities on behalf of the department, college, and/or university. Regular on-campus availability and in-person teaching are essential functions and required for faculty members of the Sam M. Walton College of Business.
Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance on campus is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:

Hold a Ph.D. (or expect to complete a Ph.D. by August 11, 2025) with an emphasis in accounting from a nationally or internationally accredited university

Demonstrated potential to publish in top-tier peer-reviewed accounting journals

Demonstrated ability to provide high-quality teaching in undergraduate and/or graduate courses
Preferred Qualifications:

Recent graduate with PhD, within the last 3 years

The William Dillard Department of Accounting: The department develops outstanding students and faculty who meaningfully impact the global accounting community. The department currently has eleven tenured or tenure-track faculty members, eight teaching/clinical faculty members, eight full-time instructors, and several part-time instructors. The department offers an undergraduate degree program in accounting and graduate programs at both the master’s and doctoral levels. The department also offers a five-year integrated program, which leads to the simultaneous awarding of an undergraduate degree and a master’s degree. The department’s programs are accredited by the AACSB, which ensures quality and promotes excellence and continuous improvement in undergraduate and graduate education. The department was named as part of a gift provided in honor of William Dillard Sr.
The Sam M. Walton College of Business: The Sam M. Walton College of Business promotes the values of being “EPIC”, which stands for Excellence, Professionalism, Innovation and Collegiality.
