Description of Work Unit
The Department of Management is one of five academic departments in the College of Business. The department currently has 19 tenure track and eight contract and continuing faculty who serve approximately 3,300 business majors, over 1,000 business minors, and about 1,000 graduate students. The department excels in maintaining up-to-date and impactful curricula, and its faculty members receive widespread recognition for their teaching excellence. The College’s MBA is offered in residence and via Colorado State University’s accredited learning programs. Undergraduate concentrations in the Department of Management include organization and innovation management, human resource management, and supply chain management. Four specialized certificates are offered: entrepreneurship; leadership in organizations; managing human resources; and operations, logistics, and supply management. The Institute for Entrepreneurship is located within the College of Business. This institute offers cross-campus, cross-disciplinary, and community programs.

Position Summary
The Department of Management at Colorado State University invites applications and nominations for a tenure/tenure track Assistant Professor in Strategy/ Entrepreneurship. This position reports directly to the Department Chair in the Department of Management at the College of Business. The start date for a Fall of 2025 appointment is August 16th, 2025. Salary and benefits are competitive. Specific responsibilities include: Teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses in strategic management, entrepreneurship, and other related topics; conducting research leading to scholarly publication in leading academic journals; and providing service to the College, University, profession, and community (service expectations are commensurate with rank). Ability to advance the Department’s commitment to diversity and inclusion through research, teaching and outreach with relevant programs, goals, and activities.

Required Job Qualifications
- A Ph.D. in Strategic Management, Entrepreneurship, or related field from an AACSB-accredited Business School. ABD candidates will be considered only if there is sufficient evidence that the doctorate degree will be completed before August 15, 2025.
- An established record of publishing empirical research in top-tier, peer reviewed, academic journals, or a demonstrated potential to do so.
- The ability to effectively teach courses in strategy (specifically the capstone course) and entrepreneurship, provide service, and conduct research with colleagues per the responsibilities of the rank.
Preferred Job Qualifications
In addition to the required qualifications, candidates who have any of the following will be especially valued:
- an impactful research program that emphasizes strategy and/or entrepreneurship,
- evidence of the ability to effectively teach the strategic management capstone course,
- strong potential for leadership to help continue elevating our management program to national prominence,
- meaningful experience with start-up ventures including social and sustainable venturing, and
- the ability to work effectively in a department that places significant emphasis on interdisciplinary interaction and integration.
