Summary:
The position reports to the SVP of Professional Education and collaborates closely with external stakeholders such as physicians, nurse practitioners, Physician's assistants, and administration to educate on the Pacira portfolio. The position will work closely with Sales, Marketing, Market Access, and Medical Affairs to ensure all Pacira speakers, thought leaders and staff have adequate knowledge given their area of responsibility. This role will also work with Clinical Education to make sure our customers receive the necessary training to use the Pacira portfolio correctly by itself or with other drugs.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by an individual assigned to this job. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Liaise with thought leaders to educate the broader physician community
  • Own the relationship with identified thought leaders
  • Build out and maintain an ongoing skill / capability platform for our speakers and to drive continued improvement in those teams.
  • Ensure that all training activities are coordinated with and enhance Pacira's marketing, sales, and medical affairs/medical science plans.
  • Partner with production to expand Pacira's relationship with thought leaders and local offices/physicians
  • Partner with production to ensure efficient and effective use of Pacira properties
  • Routinely evaluate the effectiveness of and update Pacira's regional workshops.
  • Maintain appropriate training records for all assigned Pacira external personnel.
  • Build upon and manage Field Trainer program to ensure up to the minute knowledge and resources are constantly and consistently being disseminated to the field.
  • Align customer solutions including regional workshops, ERAS programs, and in-services
  • Collaborate with other functional leaders within commercial organization to create, maintain and drive a culture of collaboration and results orientation.
  • Continuously measure and evaluate training effectiveness.
  • Maintain fiscal responsibility and actively manage departmental budget
  • Other projects as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This person will have direct supervisory responsibility for the members of the professional education external team members.
Interaction:
The incumbent works closely with Marketing, Sales, Medical, Regulatory, and Compliance leadership as well as Human Resources, Finance, Regulatory, Public Relations and Clinical
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university (advanced degree preferred).
  • Minimum 8 years pharmaceutical/biotech experience. 4 years in sales management or thought leader education preferred.

The work setting is a remote office environment. This position requires considerable on-site presence at a typical pharmaceutical corporate environment with offices and cubicles, as well as at meetings and conferences.
