About Communion: Nestled in the heart of Mission Hills, Communion is a culinary haven offering Global Coastal Cuisine and shareable plates. Our menu emphasizes local, sustainable ingredients sourced from small, family-owned purveyors. With a focus on fostering community and delivering craveable, unique dishes, Communion provides an unforgettable dining experience set against the backdrop of a stunning rooftop view.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership and Management: Oversee daily operations, ensuring smooth and efficient service. Lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing team.
- Guest Experience: Maintain a warm and inviting atmosphere, ensuring exceptional service that exceeds guest expectations. Handle guest feedback and resolve issues promptly.
- Operational Excellence: Manage budgets, inventory, and cost controls. Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene standards.
- Staff Development: Recruit, train, and mentor staff to maintain a high standard of service and professionalism.
- Marketing and Promotion: Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and execute strategies that attract and retain guests. Promote special events and seasonal menus.
- Community Engagement: Foster relationships with local suppliers, purveyors, and the community. Support sustainable and ethical sourcing practices.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a General Manager or similar role in a high-end restaurant or hospitality setting.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and manage a diverse team.
- Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
- Deep knowledge of the food and beverage industry, particularly fine dining and sustainable practices.
- Financial acumen with experience in budgeting, cost control, and inventory management.
- Passion for local, sustainable, and community-focused dining.
- A passion for elevated hospitality, culinary excellence, wine, and exciting cocktails.
- A team collaborator who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Experience with Tock reservation and Toast POS systems is a plus.
- Experience in opening new restaurants is highly desirable.
- Understanding of P&Ls and the ability to run the restaurant by the numbers.
