Job Description
Job Summary
The Financial Aid Director will oversee and manage all aspects of the university’s Financial Aid Department.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Provide executive leadership and administrative oversight to the University's financial aid department.
- Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with students, faculty, staff, and other university departments.
- Develop and implement strategies, policies, and procedures to maintain and improve student opportunities and enrollment via accessible financial aid programs.
- Trains and educates financial aid staff, ensuring staff are equipped to counsel students on available financial aid options and opportunities.
- Develops or oversees the development of educational materials to educate students, parents, and other borrowers on the differences in financial aid options including government loans, private loans, grants, scholarships, work-study, and other forms.
- Develop and maintain relationships with representatives from private and government lending agencies.
- Drafts, reviews, and implements policies, guidelines, and standards to ensure students maintain financial and academic eligibility for financial aid.
- Periodically audits and reviews recordkeeping processes to ensure accurate and complete recordkeeping in accordance with federal, state, local, and laws, regulations, and university policies.
- Monitors financial aid practices to ensure compliance with applicable federal and state laws and regulations and university policies.
- Maintains knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and best practices.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

- Thorough understanding of the laws and regulations involved in financial aid programs and university policies.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field, required
- Master’s degree in finance preferred.
- Five years of experience in a related field with a minimum of three years of supervisory experience required.
