The Gluck Child Care Center was established in 1993 to provide childcare services to the employees of Scripps Health and The Scripps Research Institute. Gluck Child Care Center serves children ages 3 months to 6 years of age in eight age-appropriate classrooms. The program is staffed by fully-qualified, accomplished teachers. Parents are always welcome and encouraged to visit. Their philosophy of education is to provide an integrated curriculum in which imagination and self-expression flourish.
As a Teacher, you will be responsible for:
- The care and developmental needs of young children.
- Supervising children and assigned Substitute Teacher's Assistants.
- Having knowledge of Title 22 Department of Social Services Child Development Division 12 Regulations.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent, twelve (12) semester units in college level Child Development and/or Early Childhood Education as defined by California state licensing regulations.
- An Infant Teacher (working with children under 2 years of age) must have at least 3 semester units related to the care of infants.
- Six (6) months of work experience in a licensed childcare program.
- Must be able to lift a child weighing up to 50 lbs., visually supervise children playing, hear a child's call for help, and respond physically to a child's needs.
- Heartsaver Infant and Child CPR/First Aid certification through AHA.
- Must meet state requirements for this role; i.e. Live Scan.
