Carnegie Mellon University is searching for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to join the Chemical Engineering Department. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in an interesting and challenging work environment. You will contribute to the department by providing research on hybrid mechanistic-empirical modeling and optimization of bioprocesses, and other such task as assigned to you.
 
Your core responsibilities will include:
  • Advancing parameter estimation and optimization capabilities for process development and improved process understanding.
  • Developing open-source tools for integrated modeling and optimization of data-driven and mechanistic models.
  • Interacting with multiple faculty members within the department, as well as industrial project sponsors.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Doctorate degree in Chemical Engineering or related field required.
  • 1-3 years of experience in process systems engineering and/or bioprocess modeling
