Nursing Assistant Programs - Adjunct Faculty - Continuing Education

Class Description

  •  Implement the instructional elements of the Maryland Board of Nursing (MBON) approved Nursing Assistant Geriatric Nursing Assistant Curriculum.
  • Teach the CNA/GNA program
  • Provide instruction, as needed, in the Patient Care Technician and Medicine Aide program
  • Coordinate Theory and Skills instruction as dictated by the MBON
  • Coordinate clinical instruction with health care facilities
  • Evaluate student performance in the skills and clinical setting
Weekend and evening classes available.


Pay rates for non-credit courses in Continuing Education are commensurate with education and experience qualifications. Please see salary scales posted on our website. 

 

Minimum Requirements

To teach the CNA/GNA Program 

Must be a registered nurse licensed and able to currently practice in the state of Maryland, with a minimum of two (2) years of nursing experience, at least one (1) year of that experience in caring for the elderly or chronically ill (long-term care experience) in the past five (5) years. Minimum of sixteen (16) hours of course instruction in Principles of Adult Education OR two (2) years nursing related teaching experience. Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills, have excellent organizational skills with an ability to attend to details and multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Valid driver's license with less than five points on a driving record is required as instructors must travel to off-campus sites and clinical settings.

To teach in the Patient Care Technician Program and Medicine Aide Program
Must be a registered nurse licensed and able to currently practice in the State of Maryland, with a minimum of two (2) years of nursing experience and a Bachelors in Nursing.

Locations: Essex & Randallstown

To teach in the Nurse Support Technician program and Medicine Aide Program 

Must be a registered nurse licensed able to currently practice in the state of Maryland, with a minimum of two years of nursing experience and a Bachelors in Nursing.

To teach the Nursing Refresher program

Must be a registered nurse licensed able to currently practice in the state of Maryland, with a minimum of two years of nursing experience and a Master's degree in Nursing is required.
