Position Summary/Purpose of Position:
The Faculty Data Graduate Assistant will assist with the implementation of a web-based, faculty achievement data system. This will entail providing instruction to faculty and staff, troubleshooting problems, and communicating major and/or recurring problems to the Product Manager. Additionally, this will entail transforming data from other campus data systems and faculty CVs for import into the web-based data system.
Minimum Qualifications:
Candidates must have:
- Strong written and oral communication skills,
- Experience coordinating multiple tasks in various stages of implementation and liaising between multiple constituencies (e.g., faculty, administrators, IT staff, vendor staff)
- Experience using web-based applications for managing data.
Candidates must be able to work during regular business hours. (Work schedules will, of course, accommodate class schedules, but candidates must be able to complete work assignments during regular business hours.)
Preferences:
Preferred candidates will have experience in one or more of the following:
- Providing either one-on-one support or group training for web-based applications.
- Designing and developing training materials.
- Managing data integrations from various source formats
- Excel and python data transformation skills
- Project management involving phrased implementations of multi-faceted systems.
Additional Information:
Successful candidates will:
- Provide technical assistance to faculty and staff members.
- Track and communicate problems to the Product Manager.
- Attend bi-weekly project implementation meetings.
- Participate in multiple workshops/training sessions to develop knowledge of the product and communicate information to faculty and staff.
- Assist in improving aspects of the user experience and provide feedback for future phases of the project.
- Harvest and clean faculty data from various sources for import into the database.
- Manage user roles in the product.
